GOTTAM CRANK THE HEAT UP!

« Reply #540 on: January 21, 2012, 02:45:40 am »

How the fuck can a metal plank lift the wheels of a car, let alone the entirety of it?

Game logic people. It blows your mind like a knife cutting through butter.

Also:
Yes, Retro Sonic is basically the core engine used for Taxman's Sonic CD.

Along with the engine revamp, the music also loops properly now.
My US Bad Future Stardust Speedway properly looped?

I'm not sure if only Japan tracks are included or both regions.... I remember hearing that Taxman/SEGA would have to gain the rights to use the US soundtrack, or something like that.

Besides, I can't think of a way more than half of the US soundtrack can be properly looppointed, so don't bet your money on that.

EDIT: Well, I stand corrected, at least on the former point.

I think that's about it though.
And you can choose between the US and JP soundtrack.
And it has proper widescreen support.
And you can unlock Tails and play with him, including his Sonic 3 moveset.
And you can choose between the Sonic CD style spindash and the Sonic 1-3&K-Style Spindash.

Okay.

So I went to the past in Wacky Workbench 1, destroyed shit etc it said I made a good future who cares.
Zone 2, I couldn't find the teleporter, but I found something that looked like a destroyed teleporter thing. I looked all over and gave up and ended the level and it still said I made a good future.
Zone 3... had the appearance of the bad future, but the music of the present. When I beat the boss and broke open the container, it still said I made a Good Future.

Someone please explain this to me.

Hey, sgt brown, you ever heard of a forklift? It's these two metal planks attached to a cart thing which can do some pretty heavy lifting.

Okay so I found out that you don't have to collect the time stones and destroy the teleporters in the past, but you can choose to do one or the other. On Metallic Madness, I went to the future during one of the first two zones and it had the good future. But on the third zone it had the bad future appearance again. Why it does that, I'm still wondering, since when I was destroying the teleporters at the beginning of the game the third zone would also have the good future (even though it's still saying it does have a good future when I beat it anyway).

I haven't come across any really notable bugs yet.

One amusing glitch I found very early into the game was when I hit the capsule in act 3 of Palmtree Panic then prepared to spindash. When the game triggered the "you can't control your character anymore" Sonic started jumping constantly off the side of the screen. Drolling

Yes, except in this case it's just one metal plank of a plane that can surprisingly slide off a ramp trying to go against a braked car 4 times the weight of whoever is holding that plank.

Best case scenario, Sonic would get flung off.

Worst case scenario, Sonic would hit the back of car, crushing his ribs and organs and eventually hit his head in the back window.

Well, I guess Sonic has more mass than a car.
No wonder that he can't swim but walk under water. (Brawl and the Olympic Games aren't canon)

I hated the way classic Tails said "gold rings" in that cutscene. He put too much emphasis on the "g" in "rings" and that pisses me off when people do that.
