I just realised...
Why is every character's mouth in normal position, but Sonic's mouth is on the side for the whole time? Has it always been like this?

It's because he's GOTTA GO FAST while facing the screen (notice how is face is angled) so it makes sense that he had his mouth slowly change its jaw position

Actually I found it to be the best plot ever.
I mean, from Sonic Adventure to Unleashed, it was always the monsters that Eggman summoned that were the key to the plot.
In this game, at first you think that it's just some random creature that came out of nowhere and you think it's gonna be your final boss, then bam, it's the Eggmen that made it after all.
Also mind you, whatever Eggman was talking about that he discovered post-Sonic Colors was probably a big bunch of the Nega-Wisps the he once collected that hit the moon and created that phenomenon.
