And appereantly Lyra has been raped and is pregnant.
I think that is a reference to a comic (Or fanfic, I can't remember, but I'm 65% sure that it was a comic) that I read AGES ago. In it, it explained the relationship between Lyra and Bon Bon. Bon Bon found Lyra in the Everfree Forest, who had amnesia and got injured. She then took Lyra (and her [broken] harp) home to her. Over the time, Lyra got better and helped Bon Bon at home, only to realize that Lyra's magic gets out of control over and over again and she ends up breaking a lot of stuff. Thinking that might have been caused by the injuries, Bon Bon takes Lyra to the hospital, where they find out that Lyra is pregnant. THE END! (Bon Bon didn't have a dog, though...) |

It's pedantic and eggheadish, but it still annoys me every time I see it in a pegasus image, and I just don't understand it. Imagine that you are riding a roller coaster that goes in a tight loop. It should be obvious that you will be pushed into the seat with some force - or seen the other way, you have to receive a lot of force from your seat to follow the path of that loop. Now imagine a pegasus flying a loop like that. It has to receive the same force to follow the looping path, and there is only one way to get it - through the wings, by pushing as much air outward as possible. That means the wings have to be spread wide, and held down against the force. What I often see in pictures, though, is this:  How is that supposed to work? I thought that still images like that might be snapshots in mid-wingflap or something, but this animation is pretty clear. And yes, I realize that it's silly to get annoyed at that when talking about flying horses whose tiny wings couldn't support something half their size if it was aerodynamic, but for some reason I'd prefer if the poses were at least realistic for birds. |
