Read chapter 4 of "It takes a village" now. The territory issue / Luna conversation reminded me of Tiffany Aching (Wee Free Men iirc), which is generally a good thing, but it made the resolution very predictable  “All witches are selfish, the Queen had said. But Tiffany’s Third Thoughts said: Then turn selfishness into a weapon! Make all things yours! Make other lives and dreams and hopes yours! Protect them! Save them! Bring them into the sheepfold! Walk the gale for them! Keep away the wolf! My dreams! My brother! My family! My land! My world! How dare you try to take these things, because they are mine!” Anyway, I'm stepping up the rating to "very good", but still with the caveat "for fanfic". |

on a somewhat related note to that fanfic, "one last parade" by Harwick is by far the most amazing thing that has emerged from this fandom, in terms of composition, tone, subject, and presentation. it's a painting.  If you look to the left, you can see a little unicorn that has the same fur and mane color as Twilight with a book to her left. So basically, Twilight reached Nirvada. |
