If you guys wanna go mythological with me, Anime and old Italian comic book cartoons (it's an actual thing) have been using stock footage and stock animations even before the invention of more elaborate systems of animation. Also I've heard you can tell how much a studios reuses their footage by the movement of the chin or something (as in, if it doesn't move, they're just rehashing stock footage).

Also I've heard you can cause de trabble by the movement of the monkey or something (as in, if it doesn't beat dis monkey, they're just causing de trabble).
