LttP > all that shit
Finished half of it, didn't rate it, but I'd place it squarely under four swords. Coming in with no nostalgia for the game, I found it to be a pretty good game lacking the complexity of the later entries in the series. Having failed to place Majora's mask, put it above Ocarina. |

Having failed to place Majora's mask, put it above Ocarina. grimdark story shit that got introduced in majoras mask and ocarina and twilight princess and all that other stuff didn't add to the "complexity" of the series, they just made it boring and contrived and cliche. and if you're talking about the mechanics of the game i am surprised you would expect so much from a gameboy title as compared to something on a later console |

The story isn't where you derive complexity, intel, and the stories have always been cliche fantasy regardless. More recent zelda games are generally better than older ones, the series has matured, and newer consoles mean more complex dungeons and environments to explore. While as a game for its time it holds up, at this point it's been surpassed by its newer brethren.
I got what I expected: A good game that held its own as a basic adventure, but draws its continued praise against other zelda games from nostalgia and diehard fans, not content.
