While you guys peddle your casual shit about Skullgirls, I'm keeping tabs on something too hardcore and real for your tastes

Quote
Skullgirls won't be the only all-female fighting game in town on XBLA it seems, as Microprose and Kung Fu Factory are developing Girl Fight, with "an array of sexy fighters" who must fight their way out of a dodgy scientific organisation known as 'The Foundation'.

The Foundation has been capturing women for their psionic abilities, plugging them into the mainframe to exploit them and weaponise their psionic powers. This hokum serves as the reason to unite the girls for a big fight, as they battle for survival.

Fighting Styles and Character Options: Players can select from a wide range of distinct fighters, each with their own fighting style. Players can even create their own experience by customizing their fighter’s appearance and abilities.

Unlockables and Customization: Players will find a robust set of unlockables to further customize their characters by proving themselves as the ultimate femme fatale in the ring. Points can unlock new character skins, more varied abilities and codex entries.

Arenas: Girl Fight takes the players all across a virtual globe in many different arenas, filled in by augmented reality constructs. From war-ravaged San Francisco to the rubble of demolished Foundry buildings, reality and fiction blur in the virtual arenas.

and will be coming to the Xbox Live Arcade and PSN in spring 2012.

Actually I think I saw a trailer for this one, it looked really weak and uninspired.

And actually, on the same note, there was another fighter coming out a bit earlier this year with similar premises to Skullgirls, but it was a mishmash of generic anime women and didn't look too exciting of a fighter itself.

>same premise as skullgirls

rumble roses and arcana heart, plus a million other doujin fighters, came out before skullgirls and all had all-female casts.

and if we're talking gameplay, 3-on-3 has been done before too, obviously

I'm talking about painstakingly detailed art, you dunce
And I know it's not even such an innovative thing, it's just that the sprites looked really great but weak in originality

I looked at your previous post and the only way I can interpret it in context was in regards to the all girl cast. You even mentioned next to the premise thing that the fighter had an all girl cast. And before that I posted a game that had an all girl cast. I didn't even know we were discussing the art.

And speaking of painstakingly detailed art? What about Garou, or Third Strike, or Daraku Tenshi, or the Persona Fighters? Or that new .hack fighter, if we're talking new stuff?

I think Skullgirls is unique in many ways, but it's not groundbreaking in any respects except that it's animated to look like a cartoon. The game itself is full of references and techs from other fighters

No I think I forgot to mention it, but that was what I was leaning to
Also yeah I know that, I was just talking about the concept of selling a game for his artistic praises (the interview thing for that other anime game whose name I can't recall right now had their devs pretty much stressing how gorgeous the sprites were), which is nothing new.

If you're talking about Skullgirls, nope; they've already got a shitton of character DLC planned (p.s. the game isn't even out yet hello Capcom).
