Well, for medic I was working on the in-game sprite, for class select animations I was using the original still portraits, but I had to change lots of things.
I do some spriting from time to time, but rarely publish it, it's mostly for my friends' games. I was actually thinking about making tutorial on animating, maybe I should release it.

Or, if you want to make it quicker, just save all frames in 1x1 and resize them in whatever program you use to create gifs (as in resize whole animation). Beneton Movie Gif has this nice feature.
Also, I'm using Paint.net for drawing frames and BMG for making gifs. They're both free.
Photoshop has a built in animator which he probably uses.

Anyway, I think I'll finish that tutorial now.
