Gang Garrison is open source (game maker, so it's easy to learn), not too unplayable (fun, too.), multiplayer, updated more frequently, has a large-enough playerbase to support a community while allowing for 24/7 games, and the developers aren't trying to nickel-and-dime their fans. Or trying to explicitly take their money to support their overlord.

Minecraft and Terreria are nothing alike. Just because you can destroy blocks and craft stuff doesn't make them similar. Terreria is 95 times more interesting than Minecraft in every way shape and form. It focuses way more on survival and upgrading your shit, whereas Minecraft is torn between survival and sandbox, more towards sandbox. |
