Oh, so they really actually the rubies with emeralds now?
I thought that was just a suggestion.
Eitherway, I don't really know what to think about the new gravel texture.
Sure, it looks fancier, but IMO it doesn't really look like gravel.
But then again, I always use the Painterly Pack anyway, so... Drolling

see i make my own texture pack and therefore do not have the problem of anything looking shitty

to me, anyways, i'm sure anyone else would puke and then their vomit would throw up if for no other reason than solid colors

It looks less like static now.

Maybe your MC executable is fragmented on the HDD so bad that it has to move the head less to get the texture pack.
Or you installed OptiFine. Drolling
