Allright so hey.
I know mobs won't spawn on single slabs. Are there any other common things they won't spawn on? As in, can they spawn on top of fences, or blocks with minecart tracks on top of them?
I believe they can spawn on blocks with any type of rail on them (Hanzville transcontinental subway :<), powered or unpowered. Shiiiiiit. Now I've gotta have ugly-ass lights everywhere. |

Most if not all "big" mods like that require some form of ModLoader, Minecraft Forge, etc to be installed beforehand and in a certain order. That may have been your problem.

mob spawning ignores blocks with no hitbox. IE they will spawn on stone under a track
