Creative/server op. And orangestar, the next version is 1.10, then maaaybe a few more versions until we get Minecraft 1.0 or 2.0 or what have you.

Made a piston machine that made one piston move another onto redstone, causing that one to move another, etc etc
it took some work but I got them to loop almost indefinitely

What I personally think what minecraft needs is a block which you can program.
Kinda like the Expression 2 chip from Wire Mod for GMod.
For example, if input 1 turns on, output 1 turns on immediately, output 2 follows some ticks later.
Then, if input 1 turns off, first output 2 turns off, then output 1 follows.
Sure, you could do the same with repeaters, nverters and stuff, but this way you could save lots of space.
We also need dyeable redstone that won't mix except when one color is produced using the other color.
So, white and blue redstone would both connect to light blue redstone, white to grey and blue to purple.
There already had been a mod for the latter, but I think we really need the first one, even though some redstone contraptions, like computers, would be too easy to do then.
