define "competitive" out of the context of tournies
I've been in quite a few matches where we had almost everyone in the server a regular/forumer, and only one (and sometimes zero) person/people are pubs. I like the variety of just joining a server where sometimes it's easy to win, sometimes it's average, and sometimes it's a major challenge. I don't find much fun in arranged matches where you know exactly who is playing, what they're playing, and how the match will probably just be a standstill.  |

i know. alot's changed. No new vinmod updates, less (and decreasing) activity of forums in general, and all the good clans are dying. Yet this site has the only forums that I use. |

The game was thriving well enough before Vinmod/2.2 came out, and the majority of pubfags don't even use Vinmod/know it exists. Provided 2.3 isn't a complete sham and returns some semblance of balance to the game, it will become fundamentally more enjoyable and its popularity should get a nice refreshing boost. Look at the way arena maps empty servers at the moment. I doubt there will be many people quitting after the patch if they've managed to put up for 2.2 for so long.

Honestly, I don't care too much about chat, the absence of class limits and rcon scares me. I can already see the thousands of rockets falling from the sky.
On another note, isn't it possible for someone to just port Vinmod over to the next version?
