History of First Person Shooters

You enjoy games alot more when your a child than you do when your fully grown.
There is a good chance that TF2 is probably the best fps for you because of that.

But at the same time a lot of shitty ones get thrown at you and you barely notice their shittiness until you grow something called critical sense.

A rule of thumb I've discovered in my incessant viewing of forums is that if someone claims that a game is perfectly balance he's probably using the cheapest set of actions and/or doing extremely well.

Can't judge your statement though.
I judge UT to be perfectly balanced, except on Face, for exactly the opposite reason. It's like sex: if it's all one-sided it's not as enjoyable... for some people. Other people are entirely more okay with rape than they should be.

I'm saving this for my quoting sig project.

I do say, I believe I find myself with a rather overwhelming affinity for the NES game commonly known as "Duck Hunt", hear hear.

I think mine was Doom or Duke Nukem 3D or something among those lines... I can't remember, I just remember that my father let me play them on his PC and that my mother disliked it a lot because I was in kindergarten/early elementary school at that time.

You have mentioned this already.
And, I also recall those times.
When I first saw Doom being played by my babysitter my mind had been blown, and I had felt some terror.
Not as much terror when I walked in on him in Kindergarten when he was playing some "interactive video" on the PC and just as I walked in some chick's head exploded.
Boy, that image seems so beautiful, as it replays in my head.

I just played Painkiller, and this is by far the most fun and hilarity I have ever had in a single player FPS.

THERE IS AN ENEMY THAT DIES WHEN IT THROWS ITS WEAPON. At first I thought it was a glitch, but it does this all the time. And the best part is that the developers ADD A PART WHERE THEY'RE FAR AWAY AND ON A PLATFORM, so their throws won't hit you across the canyon but then they all ragdoll like a group-suicide and fall ten stories.

I LOVE this game, and it's like 10 bucks on Steam. I know the cover art and screenshots look generic, but this is the most fun you can ever have offline on a PC.

Yes.

This game never gets old. In one level, you're in a jail. Next you're in a haunted mansion. Then you're on a snowy mountain. Then another is on a sea-side city.

Not even the enemies can stay the same. In one level you're killing monks that die when they throw things, another you fight drunken dock workers, and then a wacky inflatable arm man but with blades on the ends.

Hoo man.  That sounds almost as fun as San Andreas, what I judge so far to be the best offline fun on a pc. (not a fps but hey whatever)

Actually, I take back what I said. I'm not sure if it was Doom or Chex Quest that I played first. If it was Chex Quest, that got old real fast and I was on Doom by about age 5. Either way I was playing violent videogames as a kid.

I was highly impressed by it, although the lightning and shurikens didn't feel as awesome as certain hype may have made such out to be

can everyone donate to the person who makes oblige or some shit because that shit is pretty damn cash and it could really use to cover more games

Was this your misinformant in terms of the shuriken and lightning gun?
It was the first and only time I'd heard of this game before a certain Theta said any more about it.
