No, we already established that it isn't a problem with Rebel's post.

If worst comes to worst we will do that for the Europe matches.

OCCUPY EAST COAST

There seem to be a bit more active West Coast players, so I'm okay with that.

Are we going to be enlisting Korea/Asia into this as well?

iirc we actually have more East Coast players, when compared to the West Coast.

I meant "more WC* players than in the past," but yes the EC still outnumbers most every other region of GG2 players.

As for match order, I would prefer with sets alternating rather than individual maps (AAABBB vs ABABAB). This would allow players to become adjusted to latency, and may or may not make the hosts' lives easier.

If people are actually mature ans orderly it wont take that long really. The all-star games went amazingly smooth, the only real problem I rember was ajf being dump and jumping in and screwing his own team. We did have to have two seperate days for EC vs Canada but those were some of thr best matches I have ever playee so it was well worth it(I think we played 7 matches). Make sure the players are mature enough and it won't take that long.

He's referring to the time between matches. It has nothing to do with the player's commitment insofar they actually show up. If I recall, the majority of people who played in the international tourney were teenagers. It's really a matter of the tournament organizer's ability to keep everything under control and moving smoothly. Snare was able to keep the downtime between matches to a minimum which made playing long sets much faster, especially compared to nowadays where everyone feels entitled to take a 10-15 minute break to "discuss" things or wait for subs.

Yeah I was referring to the "enormous setup time" thing, which wasn't really an issue with people not dicking around.

hehe Oh you people and your silly fantasies.

For some reference, even on perfect days when everybody showed up on time, we still started 10-15 minutes late for one reason or another. I think we only had a few matches start 1-2 minutes late, and those were like the HTBA v GG v PHS matches. The all-star tourney I don't think we had even close to a perfect start time.

I'm not sure what the standard is now, but we used to do 10 min games (no OT) with a 5 minute break between each game. So for example in the February Tourney, we would play 3 maps which took about 50+ minutes total for every match. If you want to do 6 maps, that's 2 hours you have to find in 12+ people's schedules where they can all sit down and play gg2. I don't think its possible.

If you're worried about starting late between maps, you can try what I did which was a forfeited game for every 5 minutes delayed.

Edit: Btw shouldn't someone lock the summer tourney thread before next summer?
