The vote hasn't resided long enough.

When is this Poll over, Theres a LAN on Friday here that we're going to hold a little Tournament in Cheesy

Could be nice with update til then , but yea let the majority decide.

I'll be removing the ability to have Workers mine from multiple ore fields in the same day.
That's going to make it very difficult to mine certain ore deposits, even in some maps YOU created. I will agree though, it DOES make more sense. How will you be able to tell which deposit is being mined from and does it make a difference?

Also mining tree deposits for lols
It doesn't really make a difference at all. When one disappears, the Worker will just start mining from the other one.
And though it may not make sense, this will not apply for construction.

Anyway, I'm still not confirming my decision yet, since the results are tied (I voted for the first one just so I could keep an eye on the results). That gives me more time to get the tutorial done try and get the Community working.

A LAN tourney? Sounds cool, too bad I can't play there lol. But yeah, if you're gonna have a LAN tourney then I could "leak" the new build.

New regularly accessible unit (or more specifically, building). I'll make a commercial for it tomorrow. You guys may or may not find it helpful, but I remember it being widely requested before.

Well the "wait for the Community" option is winning 6 to 4. Tonight I'll be closing the poll.

Actually it's something like 40-60 because as I said earlier I voted for "Release now" but the only reason I did is so I could view the results, so my vote doesn't count. So the waiting option is still winning.

Also, I'll have that commercial for the new building up later. It's as sturdy and quick-building as a Communication Satellite, but costs a little less.
And the Tutorial's nearing completion.

In other news, I'm presenting this next Thursday. Even after I present (and hopefully pass), I'll continue to update the game.

So the poll's closed. "Get the Community up first" won 8-6.

Also, after fucking around with my router and turning off my computer's firewall which has suddenly gotten strict as hell for some reason, the Community server now works again so I can resume work on it.

Played a loooong game with Drone today. Wasn't exactly hard but it was a long game nonetheless because he had built a lot in terms of buildings and unique units... didn't really have any "big" armies. Saw a 45 Arsonist and 50 Soldier (which I killed), but that's really all that stuck out. Here's my results for that game...
Humans Trained: 265
Vehicles Built: 105
Buildings Constructed: 23
All of the above stats were new personal records for me z6

Humans Killed: 242
Vehicles Destroyed: 40
Buildings Destroyed: 1

Humans Lost: 2
Vehicles Lost: 25
Buildings Lost: 0

Anyway, I'm going to remake the results screen. After that's done, I'll start working on the Community (finally figured out how I'm gonna do all the stuff for it).

Also, we need a new 2 player map. The only built-in 2 player map is Pumpkin Patch, which most people don't like because of the Spooky Ghost. So here's what I'm gonna do about it... rather than me making the map, we're gonna have a map making contest. You make a 2 player only map (KotH is allowed) and post it here, simple as that. I'll probably hold the contest until like, Tuesday or Wednesday night, where I will stop accepting entries, post snapshots of all the current entries on the first post, and run a poll. And whichever map wins the vote (ending I don't know when yet) becomes ~official~, and I might give them an award or some shit when the Community gets up.

I use Mediafire to upload my stuff. You could use it too, it's free. There are also some (better) free file hosting sites available, too. There's this one with a weird address that I can't remember but wish I did, because it's ad-free and simple and stuff.

Here's what I've done in the past few days, along with totally necessary explanations for some things.

January 2, 2011
-Programmed the "Civilian" unit. I really have no definite plans for this unit yet, but I figured I'd create it just in case I think of something for it. Every strategy game needs these. Fun fact: It actually appears in the Tutorial.
-Removed the Worker's ability to mine from multiple ore fields in a single day. Because everybody thought this was stupid so I took that ability out (truth is there was nothing programmed AGAINST it), and I actually was happy that I did because it requires you to keep track of your resources better and strategize more.

January 4, 2011
-Remade the tile sprites that show that the currently selected unit can move/attack there. Sometimes (mainly above blue tiles like water or those blue fancy tiles) it was hard to see the "can move there" sprites.
-Modified the script that displays what tiles the currently selected unit can move to/attack so that it no longer overlaps units, metal, and scenery.
   -Started working on the Tutorial.
-Programmed restrictions. For the Tutorial for now. Later on (way later), it'll be used in tournaments as well.

January 5, 2011
-Programmed the "Barricade" unit. It has 25 HP, it costs no money, only 100 metal, and builds in a day. It's obviously not very sturdy (a 35 Arsonist can take it out in a single hit), but blocks for the time being and builds quick and whatnot. It's actually more useful than it sounds.

January 6, 2011
-Made it so the cursor can be moved after the game ends.
   -Finished programming the Tutorial.

January 7, 2011
-Restarted the Community server/client stuff again. I finally decided on how I'm actually going to do all this (with ease).
   -Remade the Results Screen.

January 8, 2011
-Programmed the ability to back out of typing menus (dispersing, buying/selling metal, etc) using Escape.
-Fixed a glitch where typing in "0" when buying or selling metal with a Communication Satellite would result in the Satellite being used.
-Fixed a glitch where for some reason, the map name would no longer appear on the client-side in the Waiting Room.
-Modified the Medic so that it can now attack. By punching. It's rather weak.
-Raised the "speed" of the Transport Copter to 5 tiles per day.
