I got King of the Hill finished about an hour or so ago, and Drone conveniently hits me up at the time and asks if I wanna play FLS. I told him we should test out KotH and so I sent him the EXE. We did and it worked fine. However, since it was his first time playing, I'm not really sure if I should keep the victory time at 10 days or raise it. Or make it so if the flag is being captured and the timer hits 0, the owner won't win unless they clear that capture. Actually yeah now that I think about that it's a good idea to force the owner to clear up any capture progress before they win.

Okay, so here's how King of the Hill goes.
I dunno about about you but I think it'd be fucking retarded if you could instantly capture the flag.
So here's the dealio. The flag starts out not being owned by anyone. Players must position human units adjacent to it in order to capture it. At the beginning of each day, the flag's capture progress will increase by the total of the human army sizes around it. Once it reaches 100%, it becomes theirs. However, captures can be interrupted. If at least two players enemies with each other have humans near the flag, the capture progress will not increase or decrease until one of them dies or moves or whatever. The player who owns the flag already can interrupt captures, don't worry. Along with that, if some faggot tried capturing the flag for themselves and the current owner of the flag "bust a cap in yo ass nigga" or drove them away like Mexicans running from border patrol, they can decrease the capture progress but standing humans near it. Basically, they can erase any progress made by enemies to keep the flag for themselves. Also worth mentioning, flag capturing doesn't have to be consecutive. This means that you can get chased away/killed, and someone can waltz right up and pick up from where you left off so you basically just helped your enemy capture. If a player holds the flag for ten consecutive days (the counter will reset every time the flag is captured), they win.
How does this work for teams, you ask? Teammates can help each other capture and un-capture. Only one of them will be in obvious possession of the flag, however. And someone can't capture the flag if their teammate already owns it. Regardless, they will both earn the credit.
And new rule as of now: in order to actually become victorious, the capture progress has to be 0% on the final day. You won't win until it is.

Sooo... after the flag hits 100%, is it possible to claim the victory for yourself (if you aren't the one who capped it to 100%)?

No. If the capture progress hits 100% while you are capturing it, it becomes yours. Capture progress can never be idle at 100%.

Oh. The 10-day-counter doesn't actually start until someone caps the flag.

Yea, exactly. After that's done, you said the flag had to go back down to zero capture progress. Can someone just waltz in and start recapping it at that point?

Well yeah, that's also the point of it. If someone's currently capping it, they still get a chance to finish it up. If the owner of the flag comes in and brings the progress back down to zero, the owner will win.
