Have you seen any servers that use classlimits? I wanna see how it works for the server.
2 class limit for all classes works well, and you can reduce certain ones based on feedback you get.

HOLY COCK, Vindi Sparkles and others.
Some people hate class limits but they make the game more enjoyable to everbody who wants to play seriously.

Solution: don't play competitively on a pub server.

Eh, I tried to balance it better. You're trying to allow the weaker classes more slots while limiting the more powerful classes to one slot, right?

Well the thing is no matter what you do, if you limit some classes to one slot, people will freak and get mad because they join the server and someone's already playing their favorite class; hence why I set classlimits to two of everything.

Also my server uses classlimits too[/shameless self promotion]

I should host more often, today I popped into the lobby and three servers were on arena montane and the rest were on dirtbowl.

Some people want to practice some classes, even though there's other people using that class. Class limits hinder that. Why hinder practice, I ask you? Why must you ruin our chance to become good at the game? Why?

I've found a limit of 2 for all classes works fine. Two rocketmen/engies on each team usually isn't an issue if the server is 14 players.

I was going to reply to D-E's post but then he posted another one that was even worse and not a very funny tongue-in-cheek post so all I can say is:

Yea I did that. This is a server that will be online all night long, so I won't always be there to change classlimits. I see a problem here.

Considering that the server name is "The American Cat" and I have only one joke map that I know of, you have a point there. z9

18 is my preferred limit for normal matches. I've done 64 players before for DM maps but obviously there's going to be tons of lag involved.

I'm thinking 18 players with 2 classlimit for all classes except sniper(lulz_duck_hunt), but I'm worried that people would run out of good class choices.
18 is 9v9 z9

7v7 should be the highest you go, so 15'player server with classlimit 2, and you can just take out duckhunt from the rotation.
