I thought you meant the thread owner could appoint a mod of that thread.
No. This means the thread owner could delete posts in that thread. I thought. You don't have to explain it again.

There's nothing wrong with the setup we have now. Why should this even be considered?

Well. My problem is threads sometimes need cleaning up, but no mod will clean it up because they don't want to. If a thread's creator could delete posts in a thread, they could self-moderate it.

That would be all fine and dandy, but there's 2 problems with that. 1. When has a moderator been too lazy to clean something up? It's their job to do that, and if they don't they should get the boot. 2. Moderators are supposed to be an unbiased 3rd party. Topic creators are biased. Having someone biased moderate their own thread would not be too good.

okay so i tl;dr'd through this topic
i think the "giving OP to other person" idea is okay enough, especially in the case of clans when a leader may want to not stop leading but must be away for a while.
the other shit is just something that only butthurt people would want

The only place I think this would actually be good in is clans.

Giving the ability to other people to edit the OP is something I support. But everthing else (editing or deleting posts on your own thread) can be easily exploited.

I think that the gain out of giving someone the ability to edit the OP would really only be useful in the clans section, and then the leader can just edit it.

Actually, it could be useful in the new/playable project sections as well.

He's trying to prove that something like this would do more good than harm.
