nise

Thankies, Rebel! It's still no INSmod, but it definitely is still fun to play!

I was just informed of something I forgot to put in.. I forgot Doc's humiliation animation. I'll get that in as soon as I'm done with Halo mod, which is now.. probably gonna be done by Friday of this upcoming week, maybe even less!

THE WAIT IS ALMOST OVER.

HALO MOD WILL RISE FROM THE ASHES OF TIME AND BE REBORN AS A PHOENIX OF EPICNESS.

The future for Halo mod is looking bright... or is that just the Plasma Grenade stuck on my face? Good job all around, can't wait for Halo Mod.

edit: I put the two .rar files into my GG2 folder but then what .exe do I use? I tried the normal GG2.exe and it didn't work.

As the instructions say, extract everything IN the .rar into your GG2 folder. Activate the Sci-Fi mod .exe you just downloaded from that link on the front page and it'll run. There's supposed to be only one Sci-Fi mod .exe.

Also, coincidentally, that's what the Faucet start-up animation is. Someone throwing a sticky at the head of the Faucet logo!

Actually, just right click and hit explore on the .rar file.

And if that doesn't work (it'd have to be REALLY old, running an OS that's older than Windows XP), then just download WinRAR. It's completely free, virus free, and only takes up like 10 MB's of space. Just get the trial version, the only downside is that after 30 days it'll give you a tiny popup that you can just close.

WinRAR is a packing tool, like a downloadable folder. I use it because pretty much everyone these days uses it, and the mod has more than 1 file required to run.

Oh, and my computer's probably older. It's from 1999, though it runs Windows XP through a bit of Frankensteining salvaged parts from other computers. If MINE can handle it, I'm pretty sure yours could too!

Or even better, get 7-zip, and never see an un-openable archive again, and open-source to boot.

Also, it takes just 1 MB of space.

Alright thanks for all the help .rar files. As for the mod updates:

Yessss! The TARDIS animation is really cool. I can't imagine how much work that took. Boba's jetpack as well as Geordi's tricorder are both great aditions. Egon's pack is probably the smallest change. As for the Predator I think the new color makes him look so much more lethal now.

Edit: would it be possible for the characters to say their taunt more often? (ei. when the Predator roars as he taunts)

Firstly, YEAH, that vortex animation was hell on wheels to get looping correctly! I'd have to chuck frames out of the 100+ frames I'd collected from that one scene from the show, rearrange them, colorize them for red team, then play them several times and end up being forced to chuck a few more because it still wasn't looping right. Secondly, you can't change that taunt randomizer setting or it won't sync with the server, something Psychopath taught me. z7

As for Egon's pack, that was added because it was the biggest complaint I ever recieved for the mod was that Egon was a little hard to tell who's team he's on at a glance, and to be honest, I agreed. At the time, I just couldn't think of a proper way to show it until I noticed that there ARE a few lights on the back of the pack, so I put that in. As for Preddy's new look, yep! He looks MUCH more faithful to the actual Preddy he's based on, with more grime and spots on his face, and darker shadows underneath his face mandibles. Here's the reference shot I used for that roar:

And his face:

I'm used to how WinRAR works, and I don't think that you can right click a folder and make a .zip file out of it.. Besides, if it works, there's no need to fix it, and I don't think that WinRAR is that big a problem!

I think I played this before.

Boba Fett shoots a blaster bolt when you hit the flare buttons, not a rocket. You might be thinking of some sort of Quote mod or something.

All those Battlefront 2 sound effects bring back memories of sniping people with Presision Pistols and bombing the crud out of the Rebels. Anyway I think I will try my hand at making some CP maps based on the Battlefront Maps. I'll post them here when their done.

I'd certainly like to see what you come up with! And as I said waaaay earlier in this thread, when I was trying to think of appropriate sound effects for CP matches, the very first thing that came to mind was Battlefront. I mean, the whole game is essentially one big CP match, it's FULL of useful sound effects for the mod!

Well... sorry fans, Halo mod might be a little late, just a little. Neu's come down super sick and isn't able to do any code work. I'm afraid I've exhausted everything I can do without him on the mod. The rest of the work is now his, and he's got a long list.. most of it's small changes, some of it's big changes, but it's unlikely he'll get through the whole list now that he's missed yesterday and possibly today.

I'm sure everyone will show the usual amount of understanding, and we'll all wish him well! Either way, it'll only be delayed by a couple more days. We've gotten a LOT LOT LOT done in the past four days of working on it though, it's seriously almost ready for release. While Neu recovers in the meantime, I'll be reskinning a map or two to be Halo themed as an added bonus. I was saving this map work for another update, and if I don't finish it by the time Neu's through with the list I'll still release the mod! There's no downside to me working on this, it's merely a fancy thank you for being patient!

2DFort, and I'm gonna make it look similarly to The Pit from Halo 3. For instance, it'll have a large chain link fence in the center with vehicles parked behind it, and Blue base will look a little like the sword room from that map.

Something I noticed is that Boba's blaster bolt arcs but the actual mask for the attack dosn't. It has lead to me suddenly lighting on fire when nothing apeared to hit me. It's kind of a large problem so do you think you could fix it?
