I hate how they played "don't you forget about me" at my 8th grade graduation, now I get fucking depressed every time I hear it You just played a song? We remixed "Life is life" when we got our graduation! Our class played the Monkees intro, and we got some of the athletic girls to cartwheel in front of us. It was 63% fucking awesome.

Ooooh, that brings back bad memories of a talent show I went to in elementary school. I thought I could cart-wheel (I couldn't) and I lipped-synced (badly) a backstreet boys song while wearing a green baseball cap flipped backwards.

So in chemistry today me and my partner had finished our experiments with half-hour to go, so I decided to try out something I've always wanted to try: Ferrofluids. Apparently they're quite hard to make, as they're not a salt with iron in something, but microscopic capsules of ink solved in stuff. So we couldn't make them simply like that. I did remember something about there being this stuff in printer ink, so I asked our teacher whether he had some old printer cartridge we could demolish. He actually found one, as well as a screwdriver. It was one of those huge cartridges about the size of your forearm, and when we did get it open it nearly burst, and ink powder came blasting out both edges. Needless to say, we had prepared, and laid some newspapers, but we still got a pretty big amount on us. After washing, and try to gather the powder into a glass and then poured water in it. It didn't solve /at all/, so we added that liquid soap you use to wash dishes(not sure how it's called in english) which made the thing soluble. Then we took the whole glass and put it on the magnetic mixer, since we didn't have any other magnets. Nothing happened. We were pretty disappointed, so we removed the glass again. A drop of the stuff had fallen onto the magnetic mixer itself, and was slowly traveling it's way around it (only possible if it's magnetic). We immediately tried putting a tiny amount of the stuff in another glass and put it on, it too started making some interesting geometrical designs (while the water was completely still). The rest of the time was used for trying to wash out every particle of ink we could get of that old cartridge. Then, after school, I went on the internet and read how it should be done in details, and learned that we should use oil. -.- No wonder it didn't solve.
I know what I'm gonna do in a week, during the next lesson.

Speaking of chemistry, relatively late in the chemistry classes (late as in near the end of our regular school life), we had to discuss and try out ways to seperate oil and water without the teacher helping us. One group used a pipette to seperate it manually, others used fabric, etc. Then, one group tried to seperate them by heating up the water so that it would vaporize and only oil would be left. Long story short, at one point a water vapor "bubble" was forming under the oil which burted, spraying oil everywhere. Luckily, the oil wasn't hot, so noone get burnings or something.

What about some using some water-absorbing salt, and then heating the water out again? Or alternatively, heat the water in a nearly closed system.

The sub's a she.
I haven't been paying attention to the class, but they apparently persuaded her to show something on Netflix. v:
Edit: Scratch that, they couldn't figure out how to use the sound system in the room.
