Whoops I meant here where I live, where my misanthropy is limited here and only here. oh man i'm ranting about my country a lot Anyway, I think I'll just use that Sniper Meower one, but looking through all these avvys and sigs is taking minutes away from me. Plus I need a background to go with it.

...like getting 100% on a test or 75% or what? I'll be honest, it seems kind of an odd thing to ask.

I imagine they're giving dynamically changeable grades based on percentage on him rather than fixed values...?

Wrestling practice takes up 6 days a week, and when we go to meets we are not back home until at least midnight.
But I get to get to hug big sweaty men on a mat for 6 minutes at a time while wearing a skin tight singlet!

Percentage grading is just that: you got that many questions right out of how many questions total. Or how well you did based on the best score (for essays and stuff). Letter grades are just linearly scaled to that: 90% and up is A, 80-89 is B, 70-79 is C, 60-69 is D, anything below that is an F. Most schools fail students at below 70 though

Yeah, I never understood why people consider A's and B's (not straight A's) to be a really good grade, say, on a report card. B's are just a little bit better than "mediocre work" and two grades away from "essentially failing". A's I will admit deserve praise.

We have this x/10 grading system here for most of our classes, basically until you go to university you can narrow your grades down to 8-thru-4, with 10, 9, 3, 2 and 1 being just glorified grades rather than actual points. For instance, getting an 8 usually means you did awesomely, 6 you were average and 4 means you pretty much suck. All the other votes are just ways for the teachers to tell who's their favorite or least liked pupil.

Not really. A "B" encompasses the 85-89 range which is just a little lower than "outstanding" work.

We have a system from 1-6. Standard way to calculate it is: (number of points/max number of points)*5 +1 6 is best, 4 is just enough to pass and 1 is worst. It's a pretty old system, but it works.
