We should have mods like alternate weapons mod or zombie mod or something like that show up in the Lobby and when selected, You could download that mod through Gang Garrison and play. This would get more players to play/host seperate server mods.

Automatically downloaded server plugins... I thought about it for a while but it could cause waaaaayyy too much possibility for viruses and what not. Like lua viruses but alot worse because gml can write files
We could have it download from a seperate gang garrison server. Mods have to be submitted in the mods section and admins will check it out before putting it on the server.

I like this idea.

But then isn't there more chance of the devs getting viruses? D:

Why not have the game maker browser open the page where you download the mod?

It would be just as virus-prone as the mods section is now.

Can't we do something along the lines of what we did for downloading maps and make it only download certain file types?

Possibility A: All scripts are EXTERNAL, that way new scripts can be loaded
Possibility B: Scripts will crash the client PERMANENTLY (Or until you reinstall it).
Possibility C: They would need to be approved before they could be loaded.

A might be possible, I don't really know what you're talking about.

B and C are possible, but B would be impractical and C would just be a pain in the ass to manage. I mean, unless you mean approval from the client, but if they effect gameplay, I would think you wouldn't want to do that.

why's it that our mods section doesn't have viruses anyways?

Don't give me a reason like: "because the people there aren't lifeless pricks"

I like the idea of blacklisting commands. Alternatively, if it's possible, you could make it so those functions are canceled out.
