just take off any file extension and you should be good
Is there anyway to recover a folder that turned into a file without any extension?
so did anything happen in-between, i.e. did your computer crash etc. You can try Recuva; I have not used it personally(thankfully I have not needed to) but I've heard good things about it.

I already did; I wouldn't be asking here if I couldn't find a solution on Google. so did anything happen in-between, i.e. did your computer crash etc.
It hasn't crashed. Also, I tried using that Recuva, and it didn't find anything. just take off any file extension and you should be good
Huh?

Huh? Uhh...take a console, and go take a look at it through that console. If you're on windows, "dir" is the appropriate command, although I'm not sure about what options you should enable. Could it be that it's a link to a folder or something? Maybe try opening it in hex editor or something. EDIT: 32 kB, that's not a link, forget it. Just "dir" it and try "cd name_of_file/folder".

2x anything is pretty much faster than 1x anything, provided they all have the same rw speeds to begin with. 3x 64gb SSD @ 250MB/s RW and you've created a time machine. Too bad I only have 2.

I'm not sure if this should be posted in this thread, but I'll post it here anyway.
Is there anyway to recover a folder that turned into a file without any extension? I just plugged my USB into my computer and one of my folders turned into a file without any type of extension; it just says "File". I attached a picture to help explain my predicament.
The folder used to be a couple hundred megabytes, and now it's just 32KB. I don't know what the fuck happened.
Tried re-plugging it in/plugging it into a different computer? Flash drive could just be going bad.

so i just figured out that the error, "harddrive4/dr4' is the usb ports at the front of my computer which i use for my headphones, i can get rid of it, bit only if i have no sound, so i guess im gonna need some new headphones. EDIT: Just my luck, EB games is selling gamescom PC headsets for half price.

So I fucked up pretty badly. Tried cleaning my keyboard, ended up pulling one of the key mechanisms straight out of the chassis and now I can't for the life of me figure out how to put it back in. I'm emailing their tech support...

Unfortunately, this also means I can't even get it IN either. I looked up stuff about how people actually modify their keyboards with special switches, and basically this is a common problem that can really only be fixed by unsoldering the switch from the keyboard pcb. Fuck my life. http://www.cherrycorp.com/english/switches/key/mx.htmPeople like to mod their keyboards using different switches. This is a level of 'enthusiasm' I never want to see first hand.

I set up 7.1 surround on my computer. It's not good for anything. It makes music sound awful and it's terrible for video games. The only time it sounds good is with movies. You're better off just buying a fancy headphone set, since emulated surround is infinitely better and more accurate than a speaker system. Edit: Unless you're aiming for quad for some reason unknown to me that's not surround sound, in which case I withdraw my statement. You audiophiles always surprise me with something new.
