How many of you guys have Linux experience? Does Xubuntu sound like a better idea for a PC with 256MB of RAM than Ubuntu or should I try out Arch? I hear a lot of good things about Arch.
>256MB RAM
You know that RAM is probably the cheapest and easiest to replace part of your PC, right?

God fucking dammit I want a quad core but I have a laptop  Drolling
Replace it if you can, otherwise, if you arent strapped for cash, you can go and buy a custom lappy from either Dell/Alienware, or iBuypower
But I heard iBuypower is really meh in terms of consistency
Also apparently Alienware is overpriced?
This is assuming you want a laptop or keep a laptop
Laptop CPUs are usually in the 200-300(?) range
Also, in terms of mobile processors, most manufacturers tend to go with intel since they have lower power consumption, while AMD focuses more on Price to Performance

Parents aren't doing anything to upgrade this PC. It's too outdated that if you level up one stat, the others will show weakness. Heck, I'm still using a Pentium processor!

HAY YOU TECH NERDS! im going to need your help on this fix.
I broke my sister's VIP party favor headphones from a concert and i need to replace the jack on the end of teh cord and possibly add cord length, and i need to replace teh plug for the headphones...
if you need details of the computer i will do my best to answer your questions.

But more seriously, I dont think any of us know (?)
I know that I don't
The most physical thing I've done with my rig is cutting off a bit of the side so the liquid cooling got clearance

Easy mode, unplug some fans, then check temps while its running. Depending on your case and the amount of fans you have installed it could make a difference, I myself disabled one fan in my pc which made it a lot more quite and temps are still fancy around 40 degrees celcius for cpu and gpu. My harddrives stay under 30 degrees celcius.
