play priest for a while so you can actually stay alive long enough to learn the game

save up your pots on mules

once you have at least enough to max def and speed, consider drinking them on your favorite class up to that point

necro is a good bridge between priest and wizard but the heals are not as reliable

Made it to lvl20 Priest, then died due to carelessness in some sprite dungeon... O well, next up lvl20 wizard so I can try necro.

edit: What would be the best method to get good items btw?

uhh "good" items are t7-t8 which you get from godlands as drops

/good/ items are t9+ and you have to shed blood and tiers in dungeons and oryx to get those

yep

also there's a dupe bug going around that seems somewhat easy to reproduce
unless they released a new patch like in the past three or so days it should still work

all I'm saying because no one that still plays has anything worth duping lopl

Duping is basically done by logging into the same account on two separate clients and having them enter the vault one after another. You time it so that one is left hanging at a black screen while the other one manages to enter the vault. You have the one in the vault put the items he wants to dupe from his inventory into a chest, and then close the client he is in. Then the other client will escape the black screen "limbo" he's in and enter the vault, only to find that the item he wanted to dupe is both in his inventory and his chest.

The duping fiasco came with obvious economic effects, with the price of life dropping from 6 def to 3 def, and the price of ammies dropping from ~150 def to— take a wild guess— 8!!— Which explains why you might see a level 1 prancing around wearing a Doom Bow with his Bear Skin and Greater Ring of Speed lolol

Apparently the window of opportunity involved in timing the two clients' entering the vault is extremely narrow, and the "Connecting to 'x' location", "Connected!" messages that would appear on the screen when trying to enter a portal was an indicator to dupers of when exactly they had to enter the vault to place one client in the necessary black screen "limbo". So while the devs haven't come up with a decisive patch for duping yet, they decided to nix those messages in favor of a completely black screen with just the word "Loading..." in the center.  Not a complete fix, but a deterrent while they work on a more definitive solution.

I've heard some stubborn people are trying to edit parts of older builds into a custom client, which would effectively undo the fix. But it seems the majority of dupers have been thrown off by the change, so hopefully the economy will shape up and ammies will actually be worth something again.

Speaking of ammies, I decided to check out the RotMG forums the other day (I wouldn't recommend browsing them unless you're going to post in the trading section, for the most part it reeks of underage shitposts). Anyways, I decided to try my hand at some "signature contests", and I guess people like what I do? I got myself 4 ammies just through these contests in the last 2 days. Maybe if I go out and win a few more I'll hand some out to you guys too.

I'd gladly take one of those  hehe

Also, just know that clients that got rid of the new loading screen and reverted it back to the old chat log thing were released like an hour after the pacth

the clients can't really go anywhere outside of the nexus, guild hall, and vault room without getting kicked, so the clients are /really/ only for duping
the more you know

Do you still play RotMG? I was under the impression most people had moved on to play some more exciting/graphics-intensive games. On the other hand I'm kinda stuck where I am with my $200 laptop that can't run TF2 at over 30 FPS even with N64 skins. Anyways, how are your character(s) coming along?

Well
I started football three months ago and that basically made me stop playing
I checked in like once a week but still
and then all my guildmates quit
so yeah

A made a new priest though and potted up using the reserves that I still had left after buying a cwand for my old priest(rip in pieces ;_;) and got its speed maxed, most of the way to def and maxed dex from limon

I don't really play at all anymore but if I could find a neat guild that isn't dicks I'd probably start playing again

Not as if anyone plays this darn game anymore (not quite sure why I came back to it) but fyi ammies will be soulbound and untradable starting tomorrow, in other words they're no longer a currency and you actually have to work and build up fame for each one

Free ammies anyone? One per person unless less than four people want them Will probably end up straight up selling them
