I gave a shit about item bags while in the Godlands; being unable to recognize every item immediately probably had something to do with it. But now I'm comfortable enough with the game to have fun without relying too much on others, which is good

In other words I think I can fare on my own now, but if you've got stuff you need to get rid of I can definitely help lol

Here is a really good tip that will save you your life and your bank/mule space:
Unless it is in a blue bag, or if your equipment can is below t7 stuff, don't waste your time on the brown bags
they are all worthless unless you need it for yourself, and the best that drops there is t8 which is rather rare

both you shouldn't check really while in godlands unless you are still in super-poverty gear

If you want to die less often for the time being, try out priest, it doesn't do very high dps so getting soulbound drops (purple/blue/white bags) is kind of rare when in a group, but because it can heal itself surviving is just a lot easier.  Very good way to gain experience with the game without it having to come from constantly dieing.  Most people, after getting well acquainted with the game usually move back to wizard or go with necromancer seeing as they both have much higher DPS.

sells for 10-11 def so it all evens out I guess :v
