I remember this being discussed in the IRC when all of these changes happened. I think fredman said it was a good idea, and we were discussing how long the max temp bans should be. I thought it was a good idea, and I think I requested it before.

Discuss.

As long as it can be reviewed and overruled if necessary, it sounds good.

I don't know if thats possible without changing the user's usergroup.
Usergroup: Banned from GD
Usergroup: Banned from GC
Usergroup: Banned from GGGD
Usergroup: Banned from GD, GC, GGGD
Usergroup: Banned from W&F
Usergroup: Banned from GD, W&F
Etc etc etc

Ridiculously many groups, but possible.

Or just make a new subgroup when necessary.
Banned from GC
reuse
reuse
Banned from GGGD
reuse GC

etc etc

Because no one will likely be banned from say, Garrison Builder.

If this idea is ever implemented I can guarantee that this will happen because of that post.

But if it happens, the Mods and Admins know it will happen.

Can't you make the infractions system work with cards? If someone gets an infraction they get a yellow/red card worth points based the infraction, and their infractions can be viewed at their profile.

No one has made an SMF mod for the version we use.

I have a better idea, you could make a hidden thread that only Mods and Admins can go to, and you would archive the Users with infractions, discuss their behavior etc.

Just skimming through and wanted to reply. I was pretty much asleep when Ultros became GC mod, and Malpractice and ASDF became gaming discussion mods. What happened anyways?

Back on topic;

That is a horrible, horrible idea. It will only piss off people and get everyone all riled up, and people will go around yelling about how elitist/biased it is.

Person B: ooh but I wanted to
mrfredman: okay you can too lopl

Donny and Woopyfrood have been replaced by Muddywater, and there's also talk of Psycho and global moderating, but I'm not sure if it was just an idea, or if he's now a GMod that shows up as Dev, or what.
