Baccano! is great, yeah.

I strongly recommend Paranoia Agent if you haven't seen it yet; it's a psychological drama/horror series directed by the late Satoshi Kon (my favourite director).  The story involves a mysterious (and possibly supernatural) serial street attacker, and every episode focuses on a different character, each of them crazy in some way or another.

If you wind up enjoying Baccano!, I'd suggest picking up Durarara!! afterwards. They're both written by the same guy and they're both really damn entertaining.

Also, I'd recommend watching Baccano! dubbed rather than subbed.

I hate the dubbed version.

Okay, trying to get into anime again.
Should I watch more Lucky Star, or start watching Death Note/PSG?

That really depends on what sort of shows you enjoy.

Like, normal cartoons? (I don't watch much of anything else because they're all either crappy reality shows or CSI ripoffs)

Death note was okay I guess, it's not something I'd want to watch again (which is obvious why but that's not I mean)

Death Note would've been good if they had capped it off with the original L somehow

Lucky Star probably isn't going to be enjoyable if you aren't already heavily into anime.  I've only seen a bit of PSG, but from what I saw it's pretty fun if you like humour based on immaturity and randomness.

Death Note is waaaaay different from the other two, which is mainly why I asked.  It's a dark story filled with mind games and monologues.  Those who dislike it usually do so because they find the amount of talking boring, those who like it usually do so because they enjoy the machinations of the main characters trying to outwit each other (I fall into the latter camp, myself).

Sayanara zetsubo sensei is a pretty funny anime, every episode is basically a parody of something stupid about Japanese life, it doesn't take itself too seriously

just throwing that out there since I found that pretty enjoyable, thank you wareya

Ehhh.
I'll give it a try, not like I know of many other animes.

If you'd like to try an older series, Ranma 1/2 is a good one.  It's what got me into anime, and might be closer to the sort of show you associate with your idea of a 'normal' cartoon.

YuYu Hakusho and Rurouni Kenshin are some classics as well, never liked YuYu though

So I gave PSG a try.
It's really good - it's not laugh-out-loud funny, but I found myself smiling the whole time, and the action was nice too. Plus the music is great.
