I'm considering going back to anime.
I like the ones that don't revolve around some form of fighting, simply because I'm more of a story follower.
I kinda stopped watching after Tenchi Muyo and Hamtaro was taken off the air

I saw the first couple episodes of Steins;Gate at Anime North. Planning to watch it with a friend; it was pretty great.
Revolves around a self-described mad scientist with ridiculous paranoid delusions, who gets inadvertently involved in some sort of actual conspiracy, making it so you have no idea where his crazy fantasies end and the real stuff begins. Also, it's funny as hell; he's got a small lab with a couple of others who pretty much just humour his goofy antics and demands, they've invented some sort of microwave that does something having to do with time travel but they're not sure what, and he basically acts like a scientist version of Haruhi Suzumiya.
