Rule Set

-15 minute games
-2/3 games to win (3/5 for finals)
-5 intel cap limit
-8 second respawn time
-Recognizable in-game names (No clone names) (and all members must wear clan tags to avoid insta-kick)

Transition Map: ctf_wizard



Gameplay - How the servers will work is it will be locked with a 14/15 player limit (two teams, two recorders and a host) with the map cycle and a transition map in between each actual map. This is so people can make substitutes, talk trash on irc, bathroom breaks, etc. If you join the server while it is not on the transition map, finish the game and start playing on the next map.

Tourney Mod – I have finally decided to stick with VinMod. Download the latest version from the modding section.

Substitutes - If your team is down a member, you can get a substitute. You can have any number of substitutes on your team, but only 6 people on your team are allowed in-game at any time. You can “swap out” members during ctf_wizard, the transition map. Say I’m on team y and x player is playing badly. We play until the end of the match, then on ctf_wizard he leaves the server and z player comes in to take his place. If you’re in the middle of match and suddenly a player leaves by accident or whatever, him and ONLY him will be allowed back in. You can’t suddenly tell your waiting sub “okay he’s gone take his place.” You’ll have to play down a member until he comes back. If he doesn’t, then tough peaches. You may play with fewer members, but you can't play with more. In the likely event that you show up for the matches with only a couple members from your team, you can choose to either drop out of the tourney, forfeit your matches against the opposing team, or play down members until subs or more teamates show up. They can join in at any time.

Map-Scratching – What is map-scratching you ask? Well you better read because this is pretty important. Before the start of the matches, each team is allowed to “scratch off” one map from the official rotation. The two maps that both teams scratch off will be removed from the rotation permanently for the duration of the round.

Transitioning – ctf_wizard is our transition map for this tourney. Please do not cap unless L or I give you permission to do so. Otherwise, you will start the next round and catch the opposing team off-guard. Any team that is caught capping during ctf_wizard suffers a handicap for the next match. Ctf_wizard will only be up after each game with a 10-minute time limit. If both teams say they are ready, we will immediatly move on to the next game.

Mods and cheating – We have a strict no-mods/cheat engines/whatever policy here. If you play, you play vanilla.

Nah, taunt bubbles aren't game breaking, but anyone caught with any unauthorized mods will immediately disqualify their team from the whole tourney. As well, plugins are now considered to be cheating. IE, no minimaps, damage indicators, and other things that give you an unfair advantage.

Showing Up – A big problem of the Feb. tourney was attendance. A lot of people just sat there waiting, like we were supposed to head over to their house, bust in their freakin door, wake them up, and tell them that they have a match today. To counter this, we encourage everyone to get online at least AN HOUR early. To help you guys out, I (and maybe Intel Guard) will pm everyone the day of the match to give a jolt to your memory. If as the tourney goes on a lot of people don't show up, I will begin to remove inactive teams from the tourney and let the more deserving teams fight it out.


IRC – As with all official stuff, the bulk of the talking will be done in the irc. Join #gg2tourney at least a half hour early please. You will receive instructions from me and L there. Map-scratching will also be done here. Server Hosts, it is recommended that you also come in here in case technical difficulties or anything else happens to arise. Most people usually leave the IRC to "decrease lag" once the matches start, that is perfectly acceptable.

Server Hosts and Recorders - You may join the tournament, but server hosts can't play on their server. Recorders, I'll try and schedule it so we can have two people recording for each match, so be prepared to be on a lot for the day if you're play and recording. If you want to host or record and you're not on the list above, pm me.
