You know, no one ever seems to join my servers...
The cause of this may be one of three reasons:
1. People can't connect to my server.
2. My server isn't showing up in the lobby.
3. No one gives a shit about my server.

There is not a separate dedicated server exe. The "dedicated server" is just a special way to launch the normal game. It skips the main menu, clicks on Host, and mutes itself, so that you can tell Windows to launch it automatically and silently.
Is there any plan to do a separate file? Because my servers doesnt have any graphical card for directx, so it gives errors about it. At least there must be a way to start server without graphic needs. |

You shouldn't ever have to copy the ini file. What do you mean by settings? I haven't personally tried dedicated mode, but it only creates a new exe in the same folder, right? If so, the same ini file will work. You don't need an ini file for any shortcuts it creates.

Dedicated, just as the OP said, just hosts a game and puts you in it. I want a 24/7 one. |

I had an idea for a map. The level could take place in a "haunted house" type setting....maybe the music could change for that level to be "eerie"....in which case I could provide for the game/game's level. Just an idea...comments?

This is how all dedicated game servers work: you run the server, and never turn the computer off. Also, dedicated mode doesn't create a new exe. There is always only one exe. Hope that clarifies things.  |
