Take away the context of who's saying it and it has a deeper meaning.

If you take it into context, Blutarch and Redmond have wasted their entire lives over sibling rivalry. They have accomplished nothing in their lifespan, which is why every time Blutarch dies, he would have died for absolutely nothing (at least before he's revived again).

YOU'RE A LOOSE CANNON SANDVICH ~ Heavy

this has extreme deep meaning. Not only does it mean that the TF2 devs anticipated and foreshadowed the engie update during the heavy update, but they also shadowed a much bigger dentity.

By talking to the Sadvich as though it were actually real person, the Heavy had just explained to all of us that the Sandvich is a person, and that we should all be careful before we slip through the cracks of civilization and turn life into a game of eat or be eaten.

Dictionary.com states that it is
"a person whose reckless behavior endangers the efforts or welfare of others.
Origin:
1975–80  "

Obviously TF2 doesn't take place in this time. Therefore, the Sandvich is actually the bridger of generations. The tie between whose alive and whose not. Without the sandvich, the Heavy wouldn't have been able to travel back in time to save humanity from the reckless other team.

But another thing strikes as odd as the term "loose cannon" can be taken literally. The reference can be taken as an actual cannon that is taken literally. Which means that the Cannon, dating far back from the period that TF2 takes place in, holds a significance to the Sandvich. Sandvich is implied to not only be a time traveler from the 1980's to the 60's, but also as far back to the middle ages.

Therefore Heavy is actually a pirate and the sandvich is his trusty device that allows him to sustain bullet injuries despite only eating a sandvich to heal. Since this is an oxymoron of the actual definition of "Loose cannon" we can assume that the sandvich is what's destroying humanity to this day as it controls everything, and everyone through it's existence.

So help us please brotheren, and stop the mighty sandvich from consuming, not just ham, but our very souls.

^not really, it's just an old man who's afraid of death.

I interpreted a deeper meaning as such:

Once you're dead, you're dead. There is no afterlife, you just rot in the ground. Might as well make the time you have alive worth living.

Because TF2 is trying to inject existentialism in the middle of gunfire, flamethrowers, and sandwiches?
