i dont know why other teams didn't use runner more often
I think I can give a few reasons, at least versus Canada. I don't think anyone wanted to go heads-up against the best/second best runner in the game, except for Teeky in one match. Second, Runner isn't really any of our fortes that I know of. My runner is a flaming heap of mediocrity at best; I only used it a few times when the backcap opportunity was too good to pass up. I think Teeky and Chu were the only two that play it consistently. I don't really want to speak for the whole team, though; I'll let them do that. I should also add that it was a lot of fun to play with my team. We meshed really well and we all knew our roles. Vein did a great job as captain in giving us good playing time and no one said a word when they had to sit out a match. Those matches against Canada were amazingly good, too. It's just a shame the whole process itself was AIDS-ridden. I think you mentioned interviews for this tourney like the last one, Snare. PM me and I'll hop on IRC sometime for one.

My deepest apologies to EC for randomly leaving. I had to leave the computer for my mom's birthday party. Also, I'm pretty sure the Koreans are the next best gg2 community after USA and Canada. They play extremely well despite locational lag and on their own turf can pull of steamrolls like none other. Before Billyherrington, I thought I played a pretty good deto in lag. Anyway, Korea was brave even in the face of our kamikaze manuevers and my (game-changing!?!?!) rambo engie.

Much like LC, my runner does not stand out and I only used to to counter enemy intel runners, that and West Coast is small roster.

I'll put in a few words before I forget.
If Rubble and A/D wanna do the commentary I'm all for it Sunday night-ish.
As for the entire tourney, I think it's what to be expected. Not everyone or everything going 100% right. We had everything from timezone, to team, to mod, to recording, to spectator problems. I will go on to say most of it is on my head, since if no one tells you when and where to be how can you be expected to know to be there. Last tourney can be considered the holy grail of what tourneys should be like. Much hype with plenty of participants, with enough server hosts to host 3 matches at once if we wanted.
As for game play, I'd say EC had their strength in overall teamwork, Canada had the individual skill and WC had the chance to play Korea and steal their arena tactics. Through out the entire tourney we avoided waterway like the plague, which might bring up the question as to if it needs a re-format to suit more smaller team games.
I'm sorry that Europe didn't get as many matches as they deserved. In truth I don't think we had one match that went smoothly. As for the other side, Korea can definitely throw it down in arena. At first they told us they didn't like it, but now I'm figuring they said it so we'd let our guard down. Korea is fairly offensive minded, but they also like to huddle in a medi-buddy group. If we had a decent scout for any of our ctf games against them we probably would have gotten a few easy backcaps. Besides that, in an evenly lagless match up, I'm sure they would give Canada and EC a run for their money.
For future tourneys, I do want to say that the instant map switching is probably by far the most useful thing we've had for a tourney mod. As for gametypes, we still haven't had cp or gen played seriously yet. Gen I'm not a fan of, but if we could find a good system for cp, it would be nice. Both attack/defense as well as 5point. Another thing I'd like to see is reverse ctf with touch return for intels (or fairly quick returns). I think it would work out fairly well in competitive play.
As for the Dev matches, I will get them up after some sleep.

I was considering making a mod that could record .dem like files by writing player input to bots. By adding the bots to a private game later, you could "replay" the match. This would have the benefit of being a 100% comprehensive recording that you could see any part of at any time.
Difficulty lies in me being a noob and also going into first year uni.
Vindi, make my mod.

It's not difficult to do. It's just that you need to write data for every 7 frames when position, aimdirection, health, etc are synced up. It's just a lot to do. Not difficult, just tedious.

i think you've got it backwards somewhat; east coast arguably had more individually skilled players than canada: Vein > Ultros, Psychopath > Pancreas (although he proved a lot of people wrong), any one of LC, chu, Teeky, Nubstar on a good day> ADM1 (because he was rusty), and me (because I suck). The only advantage we had was Techno Viking going Runner on ctf maps against more defensive setups. I was playing mostly mid-anchor, so my niche to the team was my superior understanding of zoning, timing, and defense.
Also, I can't do Sunday for commentary because I have work.

If you want other commentators, I'm free to commentate. I'd like to get a look at the matches, since I completely ignored/forgot about this exhibition entirely.
