This filter reminds me of parents who raise their kids in a tighter environment than they were raised in.

Then they complain about how their kids didn't grow up like they did.
Bring out the kiddie leashes.

Everyone can tell that there's definitely a difference between morals and values of kids from the '60s/'80s and kids today.

It just depends how the child either was taught how to view their morals and values or decided to have their morals and values set by the stricter and more 'child-friendly' standards of the '60s or by the more 'modern' 2000s.

Of course, I'm still a man who believes in 60's values, so can't argue with that.

Parents were the ones who did that. The same parents from 60's. That generation determines what occurs in this era of the world. That's where the irony lies; why bitch about the values of children you control?

To connect it here, why instill a world filter if no one was particularly bothered by it and everything was dandy beforehand without it? It's not for the newbies is it? Because I'm pretty sure we posted fine as newbies without it. Like adults grew up fine without the restrictions they raise their kids with.

My head is starting to hurt.

Tailor your website to the currently satisfied majority, not the extremist minority. Not that people should post nagger all the time, in which case that poster would probably be reprimanded. But to eliminate them altogether is overkill, particularly when most of us conducted ourselves quite well.

Then there's the fact that it is so easily bypassed. It might as well not exist at this point.

THEN there's Spud point about gay being banned, but every compound pejorative under the sun gets right through.

I'll stop here since I don't like complaining much, but yeah, this word filter is mad dumb, yo.

AFAIK installing the word filter had nothing to do with getting complaints.
