Why the hell would I pay $60 for this

The most I'd pay is 40.
It's 50 dollars
$10 can buy me a lot of things

if condoms are 10$ in us, then yes. a lot.

$20 can buy me even more.

Pricing this as a full game is just criminal. It's quite literally SMG with new levels. I mean look at GTA: The Lost and Damned or Ballad of Gay Tony. New missions, new characters, new weapons, new vehicles and handling. What was the release price, like $20? Hell if I know. Unless there are any significant changes to the engine (there aren't) or gameplay mechanics (there aren't), at least price it at a few bucks below the average price.

i dunt use ebay
I thought I was posting a new post but I was just editing my old one Drolling Drolling

Super Mario Galaxy two is priced like a new game because
1. It's on the wii and it's not downloadable derp
2. It's not just an expansion, there are like 200 new levels
3. There are a few new gameplay mechanics, but most of the effort has gone into the level design, and fuck, if you're designing the levels in this game then you deserve alot of credit

RE4: Wii Edition was fucking $20 at launch. You can price games lower no matter what.

240 new stars in 200 new levels?

GTA IV's DLC added all that I said, which was enough to warrant them being released as  whole new games. One of the reasons they priced it so low, also, was because production costs were lower due to them not having to recreate the game engine and Liberty City all over again. I know for a fact that the core engine remains almost entirely untouched in Super Mario Galaxy 2, and from when I played it at that Toys R Us in New York, I felt like I was playing SMG1 all over again. The only thing I'll give them as new is Yoshi. It's not as little new content as the GTA IV DLC but it's not enough new content to warrant it being priced at full retail price.

RE4 was 20 dollars at launch because of the fact that it's a port

Maybe the super mario galaxy engine isn't as easily expandable or something, but it's certainly not like Grand Theft Auto which is extremely easy to mod

and yes about 200 levels, I'm not going to count them, and there's more than one star per level derp

I know, but you seemed to imply that since it was on the Wii it couldn't be priced lower

That doesn't give them the excuse to leave everything the same and still keep the price high. Actually it does, but it's still wrong wrong wrong and they deserve to die for that z3

I know, I was asking, how can you fit 240 stars in 200 levels with ~8 stars per level

The only reason I'd consider getting it is because Stupor Mario Galaxtard was very playable, and I beat it.

Old thread, still good game.

I disliked how Galaxy 2 lacks a hub area. I know it's unnecessary, but it was one of the ways that SMG1 stood out to me.

Super Mario Galaxy had a very boring hub world compared to other 3d Marios.

Sunshine had a whole village to explore and 64 had a big castle filled with a fair share of secrets.

Galaxy just had a dinky little space station. All it was story time and the ability fly around for a bit later.

I don't see anything about the hub world that makes it stand out.

I agree that sunshine and 64 had a better hub.

I just liked that dinky little space station. Even though I understand that the clear lines between each galaxy in SMG2 are more streamlined, I liked having each one designated an area to be reached in.

However slightly, walking to where I was going made travel more memorable, linked galaxies by nodes didn't strike a chord for me.
