I hate Smash Bros Brawl with a burning passion. Final smashes were dumb and the character roster was so blown up that it made me vomit. And as much a I (at the time) loved MGS, putting Snake in the game was quite possibly the worst idea in history, besides the Holocaust
Was that last part really necessary.

but it does get boring later on, even with the achievements and online play

Final smashes do seem a bit unneccesary. Some are shitty, like Lucarios, but some will end a 5-stock game in the time it takes to finish, such as Snakes. However, the story mode was leaps and bounds greater than Melees, mostly because this one has a story. A silly one, but a story.

The story mode is fun up until you've beaten it once. I've tried a second playthrough, I only got halfway before getting bored.

Melee's adventure is more memorable, slicing up goombas and beating up redeads. I really think the story mode in Brawl should have focused more on paying tribute to franchises like the previous did, I'm sure they could have thought up many ways to expand on it considering how many more different characters they brought in.



I enjoy Brawl, and it's the one in the series my friend prefers playing, but considering the problems and the design flaws it has in comparison to Melee, I'd have to say Melee is probably the better title. And this isn't bringing Brawl's extra "features" into the equation either. Online mode is a complete fucking joke, I can tell you that right off the bat.

I used em for trophies too.

Y'know, my Brawl Disc only works with subspace emmisary and a few other things. As for brawling, it errors. Time to whore over trophy drops again.

No, it was completely balanced. They didn't have crazy moves or anything for everybody and the damage each person was consistant when compared to their size and mobility unlike in melee or brawl where sheik can hit you as hard as like Donkey Kong and be twice as fast.
Just because there isn't anything spectacular doesn't mean it's balanced.  Melee is easily the most balanced, followed by 64 (though it's REALLY far off), then brawl because of meta knight (basically).  Grabbing pretty much breaks 64, and I think EVERY character has a 0-Death combo on at least one stage, it's ludicrous.

Story was fun, but half-assed without dialogue or enough explanation on anything that was happening.
Grabbing doesn't break 64.
