Though Toon Link is one of my favorite characters, I wouldn't mind seeing some more variety in his movesets. Since he has Wind Waker, Minish Cap, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks under his belt, changing it up is definitely possible.
I also wonder if the regular link is going to take on his Skyward Sword appearance.
Also they could have done Toon Zelda/Miss Tetra and I have proof :I My final word on the matter is the big N word needs to stop it before someone gets hurt. I mean I love HAL Labs and all but I think they need to step off before they really piss people off. What I mean is, they made the game more accessible to lower-skill players, and that only made the higher-skill players angrier. Also, the online system is FUCKING retarded, not even just normal retarded.

Well, the problem is that Smash Brothers is not something you can advertise for casual players, whereas stuff like Mario Sluggers can.
In the end a casual player won't bother buying a fighting game or even if he does he won't play it for long. A quickly consumed game, think Wii Party, is something you want to shove down your casual player's throat. It'd be better if they made it so the game would be actually hardcore oriented, but there could have been some feature in it for casuals. I'm talking about either a dumbed out extra control scheme that is set as default but interchangeable that could make the casual player stand a chance against cpu but hardcore gamers could totally beat their arses.
Yes.

Final Smash should be NOTHING. IT'S A STUPID MECHANIC AND I HATE IT, WHICH MAKES IT OBJECTIVELY STUPID. I'M ALSO IN CAPS, WHICH SIGNIFIES ITS MAXIMUM STUPIDITY.
Give this guy a medal.

Give this guy a medal. Ok, I'll try to explain it further. The thing I hate the most about final smash is that it completely destroys the game flow and gives the killed player the feel they've been hit by a cheap attack and the killer player the feel that they've not used any skill to do so. Basically, whenever a Smash Ball comes out on the field, everybody chill the fuck out and stops fighting in order to get it. This is very frustrating because some players completely avoid combat with the others just to get that one-hit ko move, and even when they grab it they're still gonna get their ass handed by all the others because of it, given that they don't activate that in time. Now this is something that actually happens with most of the items, especially the pokèballs, however there's one significant difference between the two: while getting a smash ball is time consuming, getting a pokèball or an item is a matter of seconds. It does involve some skill to reach it before the others and it does at least make you feel like you're achieving something with your own knowledge of the game (you can throw a pokèball at your feet to be sure it will open, or you can risk throwing it at the enemy to hit him with it, or even place it somewhere you need it the most). At the same time, a pokèball or an item can be dodged or in rare cases even reflected, which means there's skill involved both on trying to kill and trying to stay alive when dealing with items. With final smashes, there's absolutely no strategic layer, you get it, you time it right and you use it. That's it. There's also the problem about some of the final smashes being ridiculously overpowered compared to others, but that's beyond the flawed part of this game mechanic. I mean, at that point, it's best to have something that involves very little skill rather than something that involves none.

I mean, at that point, it's best to have something that involves very little skill rather than something that involves none. Not to mention, some people can just get to the smash ball more easily than others simply because they're more mobile. It makes no sense to give a character like Sonic who can reach any point on the map in a second probably the most powerful final smash in the game. Overall, I agree entirely, it's a bad addition.

I'm usually fine playing with items, but Final Smashes are the only thing I make my brother turn off.

Some of the new items are quite good, particularly the dragoon and soccerball. The smart bomb's not bad, although I think it would be better if it wasn't designed to be dysfunctional more than half the time. The lightning and stopwatch are just terrible.

Items in general make the game unbalanced but there's a difference between a funny and slapstick comeback and a cheap dick move.

Fuck it, sleepyhead Quotrevor will never respond in time anyway. Anyway, his victory theme should be a rearranged Got Item! with orchestrated pieces, because the victory theme feels too tame in my opinion. His stage should be set in the first Core arena, with the exact same structure for both the Core (which will be idle and moving platform for most of the time, but will shoot at random intervals) and the steel structure in front of it, while the very bottom of it should either be a void bottomless pit, but it will occasionally fill itself with water. At random intervals, the core disappears on the right, the whole arena is flooded (read: everyone moves a bit slower) and Ironhead and his fishes come out and start "attacking" you. After a few seconds the stage goes back to normal. It should totally have a fully orchestrated Last Battle theme because it's fucking awesome and the main theme unremastered because nostalgia. Cave Story's items should be dem big 10+ triangles, they pop out and you see a Level up! come out of your chest and your character's attacks are stronger (maybe 1/5) in damage rather than knockback, otherwise it'd be op. When you get hit enough times you lose it and it goes LEVEL DOWN! and stuff. The heavier characters should have it last longer because otherwise speedster would abuse it. I'm totally not overthinking it, right?

We don't need anymore characters in Smash. In fact, we've never needed more characters since Ness was in the first game. Every new character just draws attention away from the obviously best character, and we don't need that.

Because clearly smash brothers was designed to be a perfectly balanced game played by the most elite players of the world who wouldn't dare to play anything below top tier and who think that the purpose of every game is to be mastered and played out in tournaments to see whose dick is the tiniest and not as a way to see Mario tear up Link a cunt with a laser sword.
