Brawl is boring compared to melee. It's still a lot of fun, but it's totally not the same thing.
It's not the game's problem though, it's just the fact that the dojo really ruined it for me, it was such a fucking awesome experience to have that A CHALLENGER COMES screen appear while I played without a real goal through the various modes. When I went to a friend of mine after I had gotten brawl, the first thing I did was tapping the A/start buttons to make the 1:00 sudden death matches with cpus go faster so we unlocked all the characters in 3 hours.
It's so sad when you know what to do.

No, adventure is easy mode for character unlocking. It may take longer but at least you're engaged. Brawl is boring compared to melee. It's still a lot of fun, but it's totally not the same thing.
I know Melee is a good game, and I did play it first, but I really just like Brawl better. I can see why Melee is more pro-friendly, and I'm okay with that. On an unrelated note: I have played a grand total of 2 time matches. By accident. That were canceled as soon as they started. I have played exactly thirty coin matches. (Wario happens to be the biggest coin collector on our system, lol.) This was just enough to open all the Coin-related Checklist boxes. Suffice to say that leaves stock matches to be the kind I play all the time. |

I'm up for a match, though I may be a bit rusty after playing Melee in my bedroom instead of The Sims on my GameCube for the past week. Screw it, I can't even beat a level one AI.

Coin is a fun mode when you're just screwing around/drunk, stock is god tier and time always happens because someone pressed too many times start on his joystick And I agree on all your statements, but we (me, my best pal and a couple other dudes) didn't really like playing melee as a competitive game. It's just that it was a spoiled game. I think I cried of joy when I found out Sonic was in Brawl, but that was like long before the game had been released. Had I seen it with my eyes by playing the goddamn game I'd have considered this BESS GAME EVAH. |
