Or probably because either everyone's playing as Meta Knight or almost no one is actually into competitive brawl that much because it's horribly balanced moreso than the others

MK's been banned under the unity ruleset since january, and brawl tournaments are still just as common if not moreso than melee tournaments.

Regardless ranked matches for brawl are a joke until you pimp the fuck out of the game

Melee's a still a better game because there are more skilled players in it. A lot of the younger players choose the newer game because it's better in their eyes, so Melee has more experienced players, so you won't have to deal with (usually) spam Kirbies/Pikachus, which can be disabled with One-button mode (disables B-bottun).

Melee is better because it has the Mushroom Kingdom II map

saying a game has more skilled people just because there aren't an influx of new people isn't necessarily an accurate statement. while there are veterans who choose to stick with the game they're familiar with (seeing as melee is a very offensive/get the match done quick game, while brawl is more campcampcampcamp), saying that melee automatically has more experienced players isn't true just based on that. if you were to take the average skill level of both communities, melee might be better, simply because there aren't any new people joining, and because of the new people in brawl, but that's an irrelevant statistic.

if people get good at a game, they're going to stick to that game and probably won't like any sort of change with a new game.

also noobs spamming moves is completely irrelevant in experienced play, because any competent player can easily punish spam.

Kirby has always been easy to use, but never broken.

Except in Melee, where he was watered down pretty hard.

Pikachu's OP in SSB64, but he's been pretty fine in the other iterations. Yes down+B is annoying, just adapt to it you pussy.

Watching commentated SSB64 is so much fun. Slow gameplay + enough hitlag for feasible 0 to death combos = OH! OH! OH! OH! OH MY GOD

Kirby should be buffed back to his glory days in Super Smash Bros. In Brawl, he's still not as powerful as that Kirby and is KO'd pretty hard. But he's still my favorite and best character to use because I've gotten used to it. Maybe I would get better at using Kirby if I played him on Melee, since he was nerfed pretty badly.

I don't feel the pain of most vBrawlers since I use Balanced Brawl.

But yeah, Kirby has always been pretty fun to play as. My favorite adaptation is Brawl's actually, since you've got that awesome Side B to take advantage of. It's like a smash attack you can do in air.

I'm a fan of the kirbicide strategy. Get to the edge of a map, suck a player with more than 30 health in, jump off, fly back up. At worst, you trade kills, at best, you kill them at 0%. Made it through half of a tourney doing that.

every day one of my friends brings his wii into physics, and since me and him are the only competent players, everyone else goes pikachu or kirby. (except one who's gotten actually decent with marth, knowing when to dolphin slash and everything). down-b is very easy to read and even easier to punish (grab).
