I think he meant playing as game and watch against link and getting hit by link's downair.

Game and Watch's down air is basically the move made for dodging. This is a loud and noticeable delay and it moves to quickly that you can be completely off while air dodging and still avoid it.

I use it to fall faster and be able to do damage if I'm somewhat lucky. But even if it is dodged, you can throw out a D Smash or Fsmash and nail the person right as their dodge invincibility frames wear off anyway.
Unless it'd DDD or MK, then it's different.

Yeah but you get stuck for a breif moment when you hit the ground. :/

The landing lag isn't as bad as Link's though, I think it has the least ending lag of most the stall-then-fall moves.

going under a floating stage (i.e. final destination, battlefield, etc) back and forth in order to delay the game. under the unity ruleset i think you can do it only once (go from right to left or left to right only once), but anything more than that can get you DQ'd

You know which character needs nerfing? Pikachu.
Spam specials. Thunder. Thunder. THUNDER! z3
But not a nerf so that he's like melee Pikachu; that
guy needed serious buffing. Self damage? z4
So I hope he gets a better-thought out nerf in the
next Smash Bros. game

Hmm, might try working on my archer to be more than just a pot farmer.

What a coincidence, I was working with Archer to make him more than just a pot farmer.

Pikachu didn't have self damage. Pichu did.

I'm not super knowledgeable about playing this game, but I'm pretty sure thunderspam isn't that hard to beat.

Also, I think it makes sense for a character like Pikachu to be a little button-mashy, consider younger players will probably gravitate toward cuter characters like him.

Pikachu doesn't really work buttonmashy... You'd probably get stuck in a headbutt half of the time.

thunder only works well in 4 man brawls. other than that, it's usually easily punishable.

only situation in a 1v1 where thunder can really be a deciding factor in a match is juggling/upthrowing an opponent to the top of the screen, then thundering them for an early kill

You're forgetting the hilarious exploits that happen when you perform it from a lower level than your opponent

Or when it badly clips through Hyrule Temple, jolly good times
