Oh ya you're right, the tunnels are fine as they are. I was looking at it on my iPod before.

Actually, as Agh pointed out, they could use a little more brown for realism.. but yeah! They're not like, PITCH BLACK as the preview suggests!
Ya I was talking about the lighting, and I agree it could use a bit of green.

This is the sexiest map I have ever seen. Well, maybe 8BG_World001 is right up there with it.

I kinda think Garrison City is still the "sexiest" map

Actually, when I get my server up and running in the summer, this is going in my default rotation.

I suppose while garrison city has been brought up, KZ should note that the single pixel wide spawn doors can be shot through by heavies.

It looks nice, but it's very blurry if you zoom in, especially the x-fighter.
Art is amazing. but it doesn't work in gg2.
anti-alaising (i can never spell that) looks horrible in gg2 as the map is x6 as large.
thats why gradients aren't that common in maps.

also R2-D2 is too big.

Like everything else I ever make, it looks blurry and unattractive in the preview, but much much better in game.

TRUST ME.

If my previous works are any indication, the preview you see never ever does it justice. It always - ALWAYS - looks blurry and uglier than it really is in game, besides I've playtested this map for quality 6 times! It looks better than you might think at first glace. Besides, the X-Wing looks a little blurry because it's sitting in a steamy swampy pond! Things look distorted behind steam (and once again it's not as distorted IN GAME as it is in the preview!).What's anti-aliasing??? I don't use gradients, I naturally shade everything by hand with very very gentle applications (and varying shades of colors) of the spraycan tool in GIMP.
unfortunately i disagree about the 'better looking'
the preview actually makes it look better than it does.

screenshot from garrison guise.

anti-aliasing is making thinks look smooth
like so:

and gradients are basically the blending of any two of more colors.

Gradient implies that I simply hit the gradient tool, when I didn't.. and you say "gradient" like it's a bad thing! As for anti-aliasing, that just comes with the paintbrush tool of GIMP, and to me and everyone else who's played on this map, it looks gorgeous (and the screenshot you posted is actually helpful! It lets people know what to expect in game! Thanks for making it!). Maybe you just prefer things in a traditional style? I won't hate you for not being into a more realistic Gang Garrison map style though! It wouldn't be right if I got upset at you for having a different opinion, as long as you're nice about it (and you were!)! I'm sure there's many out there who prefer 8 Bit Atari style in their maps instead of SNES styles!

P.S. EVERYTHING ROCKS NOW! DON'T BE AFRAID TO PLAY MY MAP, THE BUGS ARE FIXED!

It was in the features list! It was the very first feature listed! Oh well... you have a point though, you can't really tell.. maybe if I made the trees around it darker, thus making the branches stand out and encourage them to explore? I thoguht the dark outline above the spawns would entice players enough, but.. I guess I was wrong.. thanks for bringing this to my attention!

Ok, after playtesting it for 4 hours with like 20 different people.. I've discovered that:

A) It's wicked motherhumping fun in a can.
B) It need a few wallmask tweaks.
C) It's wicked motherhumping fun in a can. Seriously folks. I played for HOURS witht eh same group of people and it never got old, not even to them! It was just that awesome.

I'll work on the wallmask tomorrow.. right now, it's bed time!
