Wasn't sure whether to necro this or just start my own thread but I'm pretty sure I have the same problem as OP.
Basically everytime the server plays a custom map I'm disconnected. I don't get any message telling me map download has failed or anything like that. I just get the standard "you have disconnected" message.
Could be a firewall problem in which case this obviously doesn't belong in bugs, does anyone know what ports I need open to download maps?

You do not need to open any ports as client. However, your problem might be fixed in 2.4, since the map downloading code was completely rewritten. 2.4 will be released soon-ish.
