So for the last two days I've been hosting a server named Bassie's. I'm wondering how the lag is? Rotation:ctf_truefort arena_lumberyard gen_destroy ctf_midnight_v3 cp_jeffville ctfdirtbowlv2 I'm hosting with vinmod, everyclass is limited to 2 and curly/quote disabled. Chat is enabled, and no-one has RCON acces. Here's a speedtest image, I don't know how accurate this is since my actuall speed is 20mbps download and 1mbps upload.   |

I agree with Sani. Punishing people for wanting to play a certain class is stupid. For every competitive player who can play every class equally, there is a player who can only play one. Taking that away throws the balance of the players out the window.

Regardless, there has to be a point where a line has to be drawn.
If an entire team wants to play constructor at the intel, by your logic you should let that happen. It doesn't matter if it empties the server, they're having fun, right? That's balanced for the opposition to fight against, right?
The same process can be applied to runners, rocketmen, overweights, riflemen, all of the other classes, with a few of the classes instead are only a hindrance to their own team and not just their opposition.

It's all a part of the game.
If the other players can't adapt, there's other servers.
Does it bother me when classrushes happen? Yeah. Does it bother me more when I can't play what class I want, and instead have to play the anchor of the team, constantly switching because people copy my class? Yeah.

iirc dies irae server and east coast data center or w/e it's called have a big player limit and no class limits.
Balance and fun are not mutually exclusive. Is it fun to get your ass handed in arena because there are 3 spies/runners on your team? It certainly isn't for both the spy/runner (they have to sit out for awhile), and the other teammates (because you're getting your ass kicked). Likewise, it isn't much fun to play in a ctf game and have to deal with engie nests, or defend against runner rushes, or rocketspam (even though each of these strats are easy to beat, all counter strats require teamwork).
i'd rather have bad players who only know how to play a single class be molded (re: forced) into playing different classes, than waste time with their narrow range of knowledge.
