Make the map browser easier to use, like a simple list with a 20x20 pixel preview, and make the fancy one you have right now optional.
More and more suggestions, I'll try and do something but I guarantee nothing... Particularly on this one. I don't like creating thumbnails for maps serverside, but I don't want to tax the end user's internet connection. One of the benefits of the fancy gallery is there's no downloads: You can just right-click the picture and save the file, as it loads the FULL image, not just a preview.

Yes I could link the images though, but I like drag-and-drop. this is an awsome idea. i like browsing through the maps. wait who uploaded my map? If it's in there, it is because Kizzi & I imported a very long list of maps, from the massive archive by SilentBoom.

The service is now "complete"! It is now migrated to XML behind the scenes, and has Search + Map Type Selection!

could add categories and subplots for easier categorization, and probably also organized by author and whatnot.
Author is impossible for many of the maps that lack author data. However I could categorise by type, sort alphabetically, and do search. Must have It takes a while to load. Maybe you could cut the gallery into sections, like the Map Archive, so that people don't have to load every single map when they only want ctf. And make it so that the "uploading window" and the gallery are somehow separate (subpage maybe?). Again, people may just want to upload maps, instead of looking at maps. Also, put the Gang Garrison 2 banner/header on it, forum color scheme, other website artistic elements. but I digress other that that...IT'S FRIGGIN AWESOME Now has a "map types" option (cp_,ctf_,rj_,arena_,gen_, etc.), and Search, and Gang Garrison styling!

Are you hosting this on a server or computer?
If the latter is true then it'll be a sad day when 1000s of locators stop working

You think British Kraptastic ADSL could do that? Of course it's on a Server, a VPS in fact from the nice folks at Kerplunc Hosting. See: TinyVPS

^Loads of thanks to Silent Boom's map archive, from which I grabbed most of the maps. Which I got, organized, renamed, formatted, locator checked/ reuploaded for hours on end. Not to mention the time I spent organizing them with image and locator for posting on Silent Boom's original thread, all 200-300 of them. I left that post for a few weeks, only to come back to find all that work deleted, copied, gutted, and relabeled Silent Boom's Map library and AJF's I-don't-know-what-this-is-but-it-sounds-cool hosting. Three threads now I've seen my work strewn across, and not a single goddamn mention of who organized all of it. And because you guys asked so kindly, you're all fucking welcome. And in case there could POSSIBLY be anything else you need: http://www.ganggarrison.com/forums/index.php?topic=17696.0Oh... sorry about that. I had no idea SilentBoom plagiarised. All I did was use the bulk URL import feature to copy over the maps. If you like I could give you credit or something on the site? I was completely unaware.

I spent probably 1/6th the time making all the maps I made that you spent organizing this.
