Phantasy Star 4: End of the Millenium. Drolling

That is all. It's surpassed the SNES's FF4. Nothing will beat FF5, though. Nothing.

Surprisingly good compared to the absolute POS that Phantasy Star III: Generations of Derp was. Non-sequitar, poorer battle system, some original ideas but largely painful.

What the hell ever happened to a girl running down random pseudo-3D halls with a cat monster, a space marine, and an unnervingly youthful wizard in tow to go find magic metal swords for killing an evil king possessed by an even more evil demon?

RPGs aren't for everyone.

The text-y kind. Not the explode-y kind. Those are for everyone.

No, I get into RPGs. I have RPG Maker 2003 and RPG Maker 3 and Final Fantasy 12 and...

*hours later*

...and Doom II RPG.

BUT I JUST CAN'T GET INTO CHRONO TRIGGER.

I had the same problem with CT. I couldn't make myself play it for some reason.

I just got Final Fantasy 8 and 9 though. I started 9 last night and I'm loving it so far, though I'm only about an hour in.

Let's just say it pulled a Final Fantasy. It predicted what that series would become: A sci-fi RPG with magical elements. I saw a trailer for some recent FF game. There were cyborg suits and jetpacks and everything un-Final-Fantasy. What happened to a ragtag bunch of random classes around a(n) table and dice NES and being told that GARLAND WILL KNOCK US ALL DOWN?

It's quite unnerving how these things all get lost and blend together as time rolls on down

(I tried to make the word jack use a really grody-looking font and other text style to make it seem like a different type of "jack". Maybe I shouldn't have used Chiller.)
