So with this massive box of NES games sitting there taunting me I'm looking into getting a console. A friend of mine has one I can occasionally usse but I want my own.
I'm looking at these two auctions:
http://cgi.ebay.com/NINTENDO-NES-LOT-NEW-72-PIN-11-GAMES-ACCESSORIES-/110543124703?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games&hash=item19bce238df
and
http://cgi.ebay.com/Nintendo-Entertainment-System-Controllers-and-More-/330443259990?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Video_Games&hash=item4ceff40056#payId

The former has some games that are with a bit of money (and that I don't have), and the latter is actually 2 consoles but with busted 72-pins (the thing the games plug into, a new 72 pin is about 8 bucks and is supposed to be really easy to install).

Not sure which to go for, the bids are still pretty low...

considering how that both of them are broken and he hadn't actually explained the quality of the controllers or bothered to fix it in the first place I didn't really think that it would've been a good deal in the first place

They just needed new 72-pin adapters, a relatively easy fix if you have a phillips head screwdriver lying around.
Looking at one now with an already replaced 72-pin, but no controllers or games, for 30 and free shipping...

I have a SNES its called ZSNES

No but I really do have an NES. It doesn't work, though, the screen just fades from black to forest green and static noises ensue. It scared the shit out of me when it first happened (I was like 7)

Here is a good guide for replacing the 72-pin connector; it's what I used to get my NES back into working order.
