But to be completely honest, I've only listened to one protomen song and wasn't really impressed. But it's only one and I don't have an opinion on them.

Come on seriously though, it's like comparing Pink Floyd and Nuclear Assault. Both are good, but they're not really good to be compared. Here we have one band that took the basic storyline and made an entirely new apocalyptica world three-part original rock opera out of it, the other takes the original game music and remixes, rewrites and (re)vocalizes to their own wants. I've only listened to one protomen song and wasn't really impressed. But it's only one and I don't have an opinion on them.

Well, the Megas put a whole new(ish) storyline on it. Not as much as the protomen I'd imagine, but I'd rather be in a band like the Megas than the Protomen. I feel like you should either be completely original or a "cover band."
