I'm in this to play the other teams. Can't we all just have fun playing instead of complaining of steamrolls?
I'm not complaining. I'm predicting. Complaining implies I'm somehow dissatisfied, while predicition means I am foreseeing what will happen in the future.

Normally I would say yes, but he's right. It's to large for a 4 on 4. Unless anyone can pull a small version out of there ass in 10 days that's not gonna happen.
I got the foreground for cp_egyptmini done in a few hours today, but I need some help with the middle part of the background. After that, I'll TRY to make Garrison Builder work and fix this map up. Just to let you know and to give credit, this is a smaller and shorter version of cp_egyptremix. Uploaded it. Comments? If we get 7, idk.
If we get 7, we can still do a round robin.

A by is a copout and unfairly bumps a team up a round.

you could also give it to the best team so every other team can play against each other as a sort of way to 'protect' the other teams from having to fight the best team and getting eliminated or sent into loser's bracket first round.
round robin is still a better format it gives everyone a chance against everyone else.

666 posts. Congrats. So then, if that's the case. who is the "best" team?

Satan must approve of this thread because this is my 666 too.
I'm gonna go halo analogy on all of you right now. There was a clan known as Clan Noone back in the day, they destroyed everyone. Not one of them were the best sniper shot, best pistol shot, or even the best heavy or vehicle noob, but they beat everyone. How? They had the best teamwork and strategies of the time.
Obviously a good team needs to be good in the classes they play as, but it's second to good teamwork. A good example is a conflict match I had yesterday. Everyone on our team scored 20+ points, and the other team's highest was 15 I think? We lost the game 5-3 because by some miracle their whole team pushed and pulled together as one, and it completely overwhellemed our defense after a while. We got a few lucky scouts and spies thru to get the intel, but we didn't have the coordination the other team had. Points don't matter diddly, intel caps do.
tl;dr: Teamwork > Players

With that being said I really should get a teamspeak thing up, for my team... It'd be very useful for GG2...

Snare: I agree. It would be unfair if a team had 3 average players and 1 miraculous player, while the other team is 4 average players but they use teamwork.

Yes, also 2v1's are always stacked towards the team of 2, rather than the 1.
Round robin is the best, and feels much more like a playoff.
Maybe we could do it like that, determine orders based on the numbers and have a top 4 knockout tourney?

We'll you could do round robin a few different ways.
One, everyone plays everyone.
Two, split 3 teams into 2 groups and every team plays within' their group, best 2 play for the finals.
Three, Everyone plays single elimination for the first round (so we end up with 3 teams) and those 3 teams play each other for the 1, 2 and 3 spot.
If we do get 7+ teams though and we try and do round robin, the tournement might start to head pretty close to dead week for college students.

IMO, the more time you spend (i.e. getting everyone to play against everyone else) the more fairer the score will be.
If you use brackets, there may be a discrepancy:
Team A can beat Team B Team B can beat Team C Team C can beat Team A Team D loses to all.
1) _______ _|_ _|_ | | | | A B C D
2)
A vs C for 1st place B vs D for 3rd place
C will get 1st place A will get 2nd place B will get 3rd place D will get last place
This will happen even though B would be able to beat C and get the 1st place. It just so happened that B had to fight A-the team that it will definately lose at.
