Is there one currently, or in the past, employed?

Or do we just have the admins take over that field?

I thought all the global mods moved up to admin status.

But I may be wrong. I know medO moved up. But I forget the other one.

I worded that wrong.

I meant to ask is if the admins just do the job of the gmods.

What is the job of a global mod, anyways?

Yeah they do have the same roles

global moderators are moderators that can moderate any board, but have no admin powers

But since our admins are never on, wouldn't having a new gmod help?

@Quack: They can moderate all boards but don't have all power. Typically there's one to keep order if the admin or local mod hasn't got to it.

...

This isn't another OMG WE HAVE NO GOOD MODS PLZ MAKE ME MOD!

Our local moderators do the job for them I guess, global mods actually are quite useless when you think about it

I knew their powers. I just forgot their purpose. Thanks.

It isn't.

And they are pretty useful for when:

A mod has locked or not locked a thread against better judgement.

Keeping the site generally in order

etc.

Kind of like the difference between supreme courts and lower courts?

Cool.

Besides in order to have a g-mod we'd have to pick someone who's moderating skills are so sound that he can apply them to every board without getting people annoyed. It's a lot to ask for.

I used to be the global because I watched this place like a hawk.

I decided to quit and I got fired on the same day. It was because I couldn't stand the way things were at the time, and I kinda went a little crazy.

We still have members that report threads and moderators for each section. Plus Devs/Admins. That's just as good, I say we stick with that plan.
